Thank you to the 9 recorders who attended this recording day, as well as Joe Pimblett, the Reserve Manager for this Cheshire Wildlife Trust site whom granted us access. We had a productive day at what is the largest and highest lowland raised bog in Cheshire, despite visiting at a time of sustained dry conditions that can be unfavourable to insect activity (and therefore recording). Conditions were a bit cooler on the day that had been during a memorable sizzling July which made surveying a bit more tolerable for recorders, although we did experience light rain in the afternoon. Two notable records so far are the dolichopodid fly Diaphorus nigricans and the lygaeid bug Pachybrachius fracticollis. There are very few records of these species in Cheshire.
