North West Invertebrates welcomes short survey reports from recorders across the region. If you’ve carried out a piece of fieldwork—large or small—we’re keen to help share your findings on the website. Surveys can have wide-ranging aims, from regular recording of a particular group at a single site through to simple behavioural or ecological observations or studies of a single species. It all adds to the overall knowledge base and can inspire others to start other studies or build on your work.
We can offer advice on survey design and methodology before you begin, helping you get the most from your recording effort. You might have a larger and funded study in mind but want to test its feasibity by a small preliminary study whose results will probably be of interest.
Reports submitted could be a single page draft or a full-blown manuscript. We are happy to provide constructive feedback on draft reports.
If you have an idea, a draft, or simply want to discuss an approach, please get in touch with the Tanyptera Regional Entomologist, who will be glad to help with any queries.
