Chester Zoo BAP corridor & estate Invertebrate Recording Day

Join us for a general invertebrate recording day on Chester Zoo estate.
In the morning we will visit a site on the Chester Zoo estate which is primarily unimproved grassland with rubble piles, south facing banks, ponds and veteran trees. There are very few invertebrate records for this site.
In the afternoon there will be an opportunity to visit the zoo’s nature reserve (including the usually inaccessible wet meadow).
The wet meadows of the nature reserve is a designated Local Wildlife Site. This is due to the marshy grassland plant communities which include species such as Ragged-robin, Devil’s-bit scabious, Marsh bedstraw, Bog stitchwort and Cuckoo flower.
Please be aware that whilst we welcome invertebrate recorders of all experience levels, our recording days are not taught or guided sessions. (Check out our webinars/workshops here).
We will follow social distancing measures. Events will be subject to cancellation as a result of any changes that may occur to government guidelines regarding coronavirus, or if there is severe weather forecast.
Booking essential: Further details regarding meeting place etc. will be circulated before the day.
