Where to Find Water Beetles. In the Water?

19th November 2020 | 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

Over 400 beetle species are only found in or near water in Britain. Many species will not be found by traditional pond-dipping. We’ll review the possibilities using examples from all over the British Isles, but with an eye for what might be found in North-West England.

Tutor info: Garth Foster has run the water beetle recording scheme since 1979 and claims it to be the oldest arthropod recording scheme in the world, started in 1946, beaten only by flowering plants and molluscs.

Garth will give a presentation followed by an interactive question and answer session.

Please book your space via Eventbrite and you will be sent information on how to join the webinar.

This session will run on Zoom. If you are new to Zoom you will need to create a Zoom account and download their software. This is all free and you can do so here: https://zoom.us/ You can use a laptop/desktop computer, smartphone or tablet and it isn’t necessary to have a webcam or microphone to participate.

Further info on how to join a zoom meeting can be found here.
