Managing Urban Sites for Invertebrates Webinar

7th April 2022 | 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Insects and invertebrates in general are experiencing catastrophic declines which threaten all parts of the food web including humans. For 27 years New Ferry Butterfly Park, a former railway goods yard in the urban area of Wirral, has been managed for invertebrates and as an educational site. Paul Loughnane and Hilary Ash will share the principles and practice of how they have done that. These can be applied to other sites, especially urban ones. This webinar should be of interest to anyone managing a site, from a garden to a public park, or involved in groups such as Friends of Parks. We all need to take invertebrates into account!

There will also be an optional site visit to New Ferry Butterfly Park in May – book your place here.

The presentation will be followed by an interactive question and answer session.

Please book your space via Eventbrite and you will be sent information on how to join the webinar.

This session will run on Zoom. If you are new to Zoom you will need to create a Zoom account and download their software. This is all free and you can do so here.

You can use a laptop/desktop computer, smartphone or tablet and it isn’t necessary to have a webcam or microphone to participate.

Further info on how to join a zoom meeting can be found here.
