Introduction to Hemiptera (True Bugs) Webinar

The true bugs (Hemiptera) are a large and diverse group of insects in Britain, comprising almost 2000 species. This webinar will provide an introduction to the British fauna, focussing on recognition of the various families within the Terrestrial Heteroptera and Auchenorrhyncha and providing a general overview of their biology.

Tutor information: Tristan Bantock is a consultant entomologist with a specialist interest in Hemiptera. He is the national organiser of the Shieldbugs and allies Recording Scheme, runs frequent identification workshops and is responsible for several websites devoted to recording true bugs.

The webinar will be followed by a short quiz and interactive question and answer session.

This session will run on Zoom. If you are new to Zoom you will need to create a Zoom account and download their software. This is all free and you can do so here: https://zoom.us/ You can use a laptop/desktop computer, smartphone or tablet and it isn’t necessary to have a webcam or microphone to participate.
