Leasowe Dunes/Gunsite Invertebrate Recording Day

The Gunsite was formerly an anti-aircraft station during the Second World War, established to protect the docks and surrounding areas from air raid. It is now a picnic area and wildlife haven for numerous invertebrates. The sand dunes are situated between Leasowe Bay and the Gunsite. They are a unique and threatened habitat nationally, containing a variety of species including Sand Lizard, Marram and Lyme grasses.
Please be aware that whilst we welcome invertebrate recorders of all experience levels, our recording days are not taught or guided sessions. (Check out our webinars/workshops here).
Events will be subject to cancellation if there is an adverse weather forecast.
Booking essential: Further details regarding meeting place etc. will be circulated before the day.
