These two webinars will give participants the confidence to be able to start identifying Lacewings and their allies and information on how to submit their records to the British Isles Lacewings and Allies Recording Scheme.

Part 1 introduces the Lacewings (Neuroptera), Snakeflies (Raphidioptera), Alderflies (Megaloptera), Scorpionflies and Snow Fleas (Mecoptera) from the British Isles, giving information on what species are present, where to find them, and how to record them. These insects are often considered difficult to identify, especially without collecting the specimen, however, this first webinar will show that with practice a few species can be identified from images or in the field.

Part 2 focuses on how to identify species using a microscope. The majority of Lacewing and allies species require identification using a microscope. This webinar will give participants the confidence to start to identify these species, by highlighting the important characters for identification. Book Part 2 here.
