We hold free and heavily subsidised invertebrate workshops and webinars on identification, recording, curation and field craft to help boost the skills of beginners and experienced entomologists alike. These are complemented with drop-in sessions to facilitate mentoring and networking. We also run an invertebrate recording day programme to bring together the invertebrate recording community and facilitate improvements to baseline data coverage at selected important / under-recorded sites.

Holiday Moss Invertebrate Recording Day

9th September 2020 | 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Holiday Moss is managed by Lancashire Wildlife Trust. It is a small site with a mosaic of peatland, woodland, fen and open water habitats which supports everything from brown hares and common lizards to black darter dragonflies and reed buntings. It is one of only two sites in Merseyside to have bog myrtle growing on its land.

*Please note that the peat/mossland on this site is currently overgrown with vegetation and we will be focusing more on the water and woodland habitat. Also, as it is a small site we will only spend the afternoon there*

The emphasis is on recording invertebrates and therefore the day is not suitable for complete beginners.

We will follow social distancing measures and places are limited. Events will be subject to cancellation as a result of any changes that may occur to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

Booking essential: Further details will be circulated before the day.
