Goyt Valley Invertebrate Recording Day

A general invertebrate recording day in the Goyt Valley, Peak District (VC58, Derbyshire). This is a joint meeting with Sorby Invertebrate Group.
We’ll walk up the valley for 15-20 minutes, recording as we go until we reach an open area of grass moorland and upland heath, west of Errwood Hall where we’ll do the majority of recording. This area has no conservation designation but includes a variety of interesting habitats, some of which are on open access land. Once we’re finished recording in this area we’ll return to the car park and there’ll be an optional drive to a few 1km squares with no invertebrates records in recent decades in a ‘square bashing’ exercise.
Please meet at the free car park (SK012748) next to the Errwood Reservoir.
Booking essential: Further details will be circulated a week before the day. You will be notified via email if the event is cancelled due to an adverse weather forecast.
