A unique publication covering all moth species found in Lancashire, including most of Merseyside and Greater Manchester, between 1829 and 2022. Notable additions from 2023 are included. The book is based on almost 2 million records submitted by over 2,000 moth enthusiasts. Flight graphs show when each moth is on the wing, and maps depict the distributions of the 1,570 species. Gloriously illustrated throughout with photos, while the detailed text documents the changing fortunes of these often secretive insects.
In April 2025, the book is listed in the National Museums Liverpool shop for £37.95
An addendum to the book, which includes eight species new to Lancashire in 2024, and a 12th new species from 2023, is available as a freely downloadable PDF here: Addendum 2024
