Plant Gall Identification with Microscopes

15th September 2018 | 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
Free

What causes the strange growth forms on plants that we call galls? Join Steve Cross, President of Liverpool Botanical Society, for a look at these fascinating growths under the microscope at World Museum.

Suitable for beginners as well as those already familiar with some galls. The day will include an introductory talk and a chance to use a dichotomous key to identify the causer of freshly collected plant gall specimens. You are also encouraged to bring your own specimens for identification / checking.

Lunch not provided.

The day before on Friday 14th September, we’re running a field-based workshop at Eastham Country Park. You’re welcome to join us on just one of the gall workshops but we recommend you come to both.
