Spider Families Workshop

16th February 2024 | 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

£7.50

Book here –  tickets are £7.50

Richard Gallon from the British Arachnological Society’s Spider Recording Scheme will lead this workshop on identifying UK spider families.

The workshop will use preserved specimens to help understand the morphological differences between spider families. Field characteristics and webs will also be presented which help recognise the different groups.

Being able to correctly place your specimen to family level is particularly helpful when trying to identify spiders to species, since the group is species-rich. By limiting your options to one or two families you can make species identification much easier.

Lunch is not provided but tea, coffee, water and biscuits will be available.
