Each year of the project we are holding a series of invertebrate workshops on identification, recording, curation of reference collections and field craft to help boost the skills of beginners and experienced entomologists alike. We are also organising invertebrate recording days across the region to bring together the invertebrate recording community and facilitate improvements to baseline data coverage at selected important sites. Results will be published on this website. Other events include drop-in sessions to facilitate networking and mentoring.

Money Spider (Linyphiidae) Identification

7th December 2018 | 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

Richard Gallon from the British Arachnological Society will lead an identification course on the British money spiders (Linyphiidae). Focusing on some easily identifiable species, you’ll get to hone your ID skills on a range of preserved specimens. The course will be rich in practical identification tips and will concentrate on some of the easily-confused common species.

This course is open to all experience levels, but it would be an advantage to have previous experience examining small invertebrates down a microscope.

You are welcome to bring your own specimens on the day for identification / confirmation.
